Interests and Hobbies

Saxophone

I'm a member of the Saxyderms, New England's largest saxophone ensemble. We play jazz, classical, and pop music at two concerts per year, and a more lighthearted concert series on the Boston Common each week during the summer.

Here's us playing my arrangement of Tank! by Yoko Kanno, the theme song to Cowboy Bebop.

Gaming

I enjoy playing video games in my spare time. I'll give any genre a shot, but I tend towards strategy and action/adventure games. Recent favorites include:

  • The Legend of Zelda
  • League of Legends
  • Tunic
  • Outer Wilds
  • Helldivers 2
  • Remnant II
  • Cobalt Core

I also love tabletop RPG games. My group plays D&D 5E, Lancer, Pathfinder 2E and occasionally other systems. I'm often, but not always, my group's GM. One of the more difficult parts of GMing Lancer is that few of the campaigns include tactical combat maps. I've posted my own maps for the Lancer campaign No Room for a Wallflower in the hopes that it removes a barrier to entry for other people who want to play this wonderful game.

Food

I'm not the biggest foodie, nor am I even a decent cook. That said, one of the few recipes I can make well is my mom's matzo ball soup. It's easy (if a little time consuming), delicious, and guaranteed to cure any sickness. My favorite homemade cookie is hamentashen, which are Jewish jelly tarts traditionally made to celebrate Purim. I also love NY bagels, cheese, and tea.
